Lavatory faucets must comply with the U.S. Government maximum flow rate of 2.2 gpm @ 60psi. There are several voluntary water conservation programs now being promoted, including the WaterSense®program sponsored by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. As a WaterSense Partner, Gerber faucets produced in 2008 and later comply with the WaterSense standard that reduces water use for lavatory faucets to 1.5 gpm @ 60psi, a 30% reduction in water flow. Gerber faucets sold or offered for sale on or after July 2016 comply with the WaterSense standard that reduces water use for lavatory faucets to 1.2 gpm @ 60psi, a 30% reduction in water flow.
Gerber faucets that were equipped to flow at a maximum flow rate of 2.2 gpm can be refitted with a new aerator that reduces water flow to 1.5 gpm or 1.2 gpm. Aerator kits can be purchased from your local Gerber retailer, showroom or distributor partners. You will need to identify the model number and finish of your faucet so the correct parts can be ordered.
