What does CalGreen mean? Which of our products meet the requirements?

CALGreen refers to the California Green Building Standards Code, also called as CALGreen Code. As mandated by law, California buildings must reduce the maximum flow of water by 20% on all plumbing fittings and fixtures.

For faucets sold or offered for sale on or after January 1, 2016, that meet the CALGreen code, have a maximum flow rate of:

  • 1.8 gallons per minute at 60 psi for kitchen faucets and aerators
  • 2.5 gallons per minute for pot fillers
  • 1.2 gallons per minute at 60 psi for lavatory faucets and aerators
  • 0.5 gallons per minute at 60 psi for public lavatory faucets
  • 2.0 gallons per minute at 80 psi for showerheads
  • 1.28 gallons per flush for toilets

Detailed information on the CALGreen Code can be found on the California Building Standards Commission site at http://www.bsc.ca.gov/Home/CALGreen.aspx.
