How to remove the diverter for the model Danze D409112 Melrose Single Handle High-Rise Kitchen Faucet w/ Soap Dispenser and Spray?

Shut water off under the sink or keep the main handle in the off position.
Unscrew the spout base from the top of the sink counter-clockwise till it is loose.
Pull out the spout from the sink. (Try to hold the main body under the sink because it could fall down).
Use a flat screwdriver to unscrew the diverter counter-clockwise and pull it out.
