Carefully identify which of these below types of handle is your Melrose faucet and follow the specific instructions for handle removal.
- Handle type 1:
- Pull out the rubber button located on the bottom of the faucet handle.
- Use a hex wrench (part #1) to unscrew counter-clockwise to loosen the set screw.
The hex wrench is 2.5 mm head or 1/8". - Then pull out the main handle (part #2).
If still hard to be pulled away, loosen the set screw again.
- Handle type 2:
- Pull out the rubber button located on the bottom of the faucet handle (part #3).
- Use a hex wrench (part #4) to unscrew counter-clockwise to loosen the set screw (part #2).
The hex wrench is 2.5 mm head or 1/8". - Then pull out the main handle (part # 1).
If still hard to be pulled away, loosen the set screw again.
- Handle type 3:
- Unscrew the handle cap (part #1) counter-clockwise by hand and pull it out.
- Unscrew the handle set screw (part #3) using Philips or flat-head screwdriver counter-clockwise.
- Pull out the handle lever (part #4).
- Unscrew handle canopy (part #5) counter-clockwise by hand and pull it out.
- Handle type 4:
- Pull out the cap (part #1).
- Unscrew the handle screw (part #2) counter-clockwise using Phillips or flat-head screwdriver.
- Pull out the handle (part #3).
- Handle type 5:
- Unscrew the handle cap counter-clockwise and pull it out (part #1).
- Unscrew the handle set screw (part #3) using Phillips or flat-head screwdriver counter-clockwise.
- Pull out the handle lever (part #4).
- Unscrew the handle canopy (part #5) counter-clockwise by applying an adjustable wrench on the 2 flat slots. Ensure to cover with a kitchen towel over the handle when using adjustable wrench to prevent the color finish of the handle from scratch.
