How to remove Avian handle

For Single Handle Lavatory Faucets
 

 
  1. Use a hex wrench to remove the set screw (part # 2).
    The hex wrench is 2.5 mm head or 1/8".
  2. Pull off the handle.

    To remove the remaining components, proceed with the following steps
     
  3. Use a screwdriver and slide into the gap between the base (part # 3) and trim cap (part # 4), then pull the trim cap out.
  4. Using a socket wrench, turn counter-clockwise to loosen the adjusting ring.(part #5)
 
 
 
For Two-Handle Lavatory and Roman Tub Faucets
 
 

 
  1. Pull out the rubber button (part #1).
  2. Use a hex wrench to unscrew counter-clockwise to loosen the set screw (part #2).
    The hex wrench is 2.5 mm or 1/8".
  3. Pull out the on/off handle.
    If still hard to be pulled away, then loosen the set screw again.
 
 
 
For Showers 

  1. Pull out the rubber button (part #1).
  2. Use a hex wrench to unscrew counter-clockwise to loosen the set screw (part #2).
    The hex wrench is 2.5 mm or 1/8".
  3. Pull out the on/off handle.
    If still hard to be pulled away, then loosen the set screw again.
 
For 1/2" Diverter Valve or 3/4" Volume Control Valve:
  1. Remove the plug and loosen the set screw (part #4) by unscrewing it counter-clockwise with a hex wrench (2.5 mm or 1/8").
  2. Gently pull the handle assembly (part #1) out to reveal the handle adapter assembly (part #2).
  3. Use an adjustable wrench to grab onto the flat on each side of the handle adapter assembly (part #2) and unscrew it counter-clockwise to remove it.
  4. Remove the escutcheon plate (part #4) to reach the rough-in valve.
NOTE: This trim kit comes with a stem kit of a shallow wall kit and a deep wall extension kit (part #5). Use one that is appropriate for your installation depth when needed.
