Care and Maintenance of a Vitreous China Toilet or Lavatory Sink

  • Clean the surface of your vitreous china toilet or lavatory with a mild cleaner/soap and a soft cloth.
  • DO NOT USE ABRASIVE CLEANSERS, ABRASIVE PADS OR STEEL WOOL to clean vitreous china surfaces, as it can result in scratching and dulling of the surface.
  • DO NOT USE IN-TANK DROP-IN TOILET BOWL CLEANERS CONTAINING CHLORINE OR BLEACH.  Do not expose plastic trim parts to strong oxidizing agents, chlorine, or acid levels of lower than 5.0 pH. Most bowl/tile cleaners contain such agents.
    • Use of in-tank drop-in cleaners containing chlorine or bleach can cause tank components failure and damage, or may cause flooding or property damage. Use of such cleaners will void the warranty.
    • Damage to the finish or performance of any components caused by the use of cleaning solvents/chemicals or improper cleaning methods, including in-tank bowl cleaners, will void the warranty.
  • Toilet Seats
    • Clean the surface of your toilet seat with a mild cleaner/soap and a soft cloth. DO NOT use abrasive cleansers, abrasive pads or steel wool to clean the toilet seat surfaces, as it can result in scratching and dulling of the surface.

  • I am reading the Care and Maintenance section on the website's article section. This information should NOT be buried in a website. Product care and maintenance information should be provided in the fixture tank. This way, as a professional, I can discuss the manufacturer's care and maintenance with the customer onsite. This will help avoid costly mistakes that could void the warranty. Please include the warranty certificate in the toilet tank as well.
